UWRF Wins NCHA Playoff Title

UW-River Falls took a 2-1 win over UW-Superior to claim the NCHA Playoff Championship in action at UW-River Falls Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first period, Elisha Best scored at 13:07 of the second period to give the Falcons the lead. Jenny Conzemius got the lone assist. At 16:20 the Falcons, now 19-7-1 overall, took a 2-0 lead when Hattie Hoff scored on a shot from the point with Susie Misheski assisting.

UWS, now 18-5-0 overall, made it a game at 3:17 of the third period when Angela Harvieux scored with assists to Mika Sharpe and Becky Gallagher.

UWRF goalie Jill Janikowski made 25 saves and UWS's Kelly Timm stopped 18 shots.
