
UW-River Falls Tops UW-Stevens Point, 4-1

March 3, 2001 UW-River Falls got goals from four players on the way to a 4-1 win over UW-Stevens Point in an NCHA playoffs semi-final game played Saturday at Hunt Arena at UW-River Falls. The Falcons, now 18-7-1 overall, led 1-0 after one and 2-0 after two. Jenny Conzemius started the scoring at 1:43 of the first period with an assist from Megan Schelzetenberg. The Falcons went ahead, 2-0, at 7:48 of the second period when Jodi Hensch scored with assists to Hattie Hoff and Conzemius. UWRF went ahead 3-0 at 2:49 of the third when Karyl Hylle scored with an assist to Susie Misheski. UWSP, now 12-13-1, made it a 3-1 game at 14:20 when Mandy Rhyner scored with an assist from Jessica Barrick. The Falcons put the game away at 17:16 when Keri Deschene scored unassisted. UWRF goalie Jill Janikowski made 18 saves and UWSP's Diane Sawyer stopped 34 shots. UWRF will play UW-Superior in the playoff championship game at 3 p.m. on Sunday. UWSP faces Lake Forest in the game for third place at noon.
