UWSP Claims Third Place Game Over Lake Forest

UW-Stevens Point got goals from Naomi Morris and Alison St. Peter and goalie Diane Sawyer made 24 saves to lead the Pointers to a 2-0 win over Lake Forest in the third-place game in the women's NCHA Tournament played Sunday at UW-River Falls.

UWSP, now 13-13-1, led 1-0 after the first period when Morris scored an unassisted goal at 12:45. The Pointers got an insurance goal at 5:44 of the second period when St. Peter scored a power-play goal wiht an assist to Mandy Rhyner.

LFC goalie Theresa Taylor made 19 saves. Lake Forest ends the season with a 6-13-1 record.
