Evans, Wojnowiak, Rathbun Earn Honors
Three Falcons Named to All-WIAC Softball Teams

Three Falcon softball players have been named to 2005 All-WIAC teams. Third baseman Emily Evans (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) and outfielder Amanda Wojnowiak (Fr., Big Lake, Minn.) were both named to the first team. Pitcher Brittany Rathbun (Fr., Rochester, Minn. Mayo HS) earned honorable mention. Evans, who earned honorable mention to the team in 2004, hit .364 for the Falcons in 2005. She started all 41 games at third and had a .936 fielding percentage. She tied for the team lead in hits (47) and she had eight doubles. She scored six runs and led the Falcons with 19 RBIs. She had a .426 slugging percentage and a .393 on base percentage. In her career, she finished with a .312 batting average with 16 doubles, one triple and three homers. She had 52 RBIs and a .920 career fielding percentage. She played in 129 games. Wojnowiak, one of six freshmen named to the first team, led the Falcons in hitting with a .420 average. Her batting average is second in a single season for the Falcons. She played in 34 games and started 32 times. She missed nine games in mid-season with an ankle injury. She tied for the team lead in hits (47) and led the Falcons with 21 runs scored. She led the team with 12 doubles and two triples. The 12 doubles in a season is second in the Falcon records book. She had 16 RBIs and a team high .562 slugging percentage. She finished with a .425 on base percentage. She stole nine bases and was caught stealing only twice. She had a perfect season in the outfield making 29 put outs without an error. Rathbun earned honorable mention as a pitcher, and she helped the team with her hitting talents also. On the mound she appeared in 34 of the team's 41 games, with all of those in relief except four starts. She had a 2.57 ERA in 90 innings pitched. She had a 5-6 record and led the Falcons with four saves. The four saves in a single season is a Falcon record. She walked only 17 and struck out 67. Opponents hit .250 against her. Rathbun also helped the Falcons at the plate finishing with a .387 average. She scored twice, had two doubles and seven RBIs. She had a .484 slugging percentage and a .472 on base percentage.
