Falcon Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Guard Jeff Holt (Sr., Elmwood, Wis.) had two strong games and helped the Falcons win two WIAC games last week, including a 60-59 win over UW-Platteville, a team that was tied for first in the WIAC going into Saturday's game. The Falcons also beat UW-La Crosse, 69-62, earlier in the week. In the two games Holt was 12-27 from the field, including 6-14 from three-point range. He was 1-5 from the line. He scored 31 points, including 15 in the win over Platteville. He had seven rebounds, four assists and one steal in 67 minutes of action.

Guard Jeff Holt (Sr., Elmwood, Wis.) scored a career high 27 points in the team's 74-65 loss at UW-Superior last week. He was 9-20 from the field, including 5-9 from behind the arc. He finished 4-5 at the line. He also led the Falcons with six rebounds. He had one assist, two steals and only one turnover in 34 minutes of playing time.

Guard Jeff Holt (Sr., Elmwood, Wis.) had two solid games for the Falcons in losses to UW-Stout and UW-Oshkosh, two of the top teams in the WIAC. In the two games Holt was 16-26 (.615) from the field, including 8-15 (.533) from behind the arc. He was 3-4 (.750) from the line. He finished with 43 points. He also had eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals in 56 minutes of playing time. He scored a career-high 25 points against Oshkosh when he went 9-16 from the field and 5-10 from three-point range.

Guard Eric Kossoris (So., Waukesha, Wis./South HS) scored a career high 26 points and had two solid games for the Falcons last week. Kossoris came off the bench against UW-Whitewater and scored 26 points. In the two games he scored 36 points shooting 14-27 from the field, including 3-9 from three-point range. The 6-2, 175 pounder was 5-6 from the line. He had four rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 64 minutes of playing time.

Guard Hans Hoeg (So., So., Litchfield, Minn.) helped the Falcons to a 1-1 record last week when the Falcons hosted the Cenex Harvest States Tournament at the Karges Center. The Falcons opened with a 78-74 win over St. Thomas. Calvin topped the Falcons, 62-52, in the championship game. The 6-3, 185 pounder came off the bench in both games to play a key role for the Falcons. In the two games he was 9-25 from the field and 8-9 from the line for 26 points. He had 17 rebounds, four assists, three steals and only one turnover in 62 minutes of playing time. He led the Falcons with 11 rebounds against Calvin.

Forward Dan Torrez (Sr., Green Bay, Wis. Southwest HS) led the Falcons in scoring in the team's 95-83 loss at Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday afternoon. He had a season-high 26 points. He finished 10-20 from the field, including 5-7 from three-point range, and 1-1 at the line. He had four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 35 minutes of action.

Guard Eric Kossoris (So., Waukesha, Wis. South HS) played two strong games for the Falcons in the team's two wins last week. The 6-2, 175 pounder came off the bench and scored all 19 of his points in the second half in the win over Macalester. In that game he was 7-11 from the field, including 3-4 from three-point range and 2-2 at the line. In the two games he was 9-17 from the field and 4-7 from three-point range. He finished 4-5 at the line for 26 points. He had two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 39 minutes of playing time.

Guard Hans Hoeg (So., Litchfield, Minn.) scored a career and game high 28 points in the Falcons first win of the season against Lakeland in the Bethel College Tournament on Friday. He shot 6-16 from the field, including 3-6 from three-point range. And he was a perfect 16-16 from the free throw line. Hoeg, 6-3, 185, set a Falcon single game record with the perfect performance. The 16-16 performance ties him for second place in the WIAC individual game record book. On Saturday against Bethel he capped off a perfect weekend at the line going 2-2 for a weekend total of 18-18. He gathered five rebounds and blocked one shot in the two games.
