Neal Folta
Major:
Business administration.
Why did you choose to attend UWRF?
The main reason was for the business program - the CBE is one of the
best business colleges in the UW-System. Also the location - being close
to the Twin Cities - gives a student a lot of choices in many areas of
life.
Why did you choose to play football at UWRF?
There were three reasons. Coaches - the no b.s. attitude they have
and yet the ability to be around to help players in tough times. The system
- the idea of running the ball right at the other team and to not let
up until the game is over. The tradition - UWRF has a great winning past
with great teams. I am proud that I can be a part of this great program.
What is your most memorable high school football moment?
Going to the playoffs in 1998 and winning the Wausau Log all four
years I was in high school.
What is your most memorable college football moment?
Winning against Eau Claire in overtime in 2001. Also the trip to Seatlle.
List your individual and team goals for the 2004 season.
I want to bring UWRF back to our winning ways and win the WIAC title.
List your hobbies.
Lifting, hunting, wakeboarding, snowmobiling, softball, boating, cars,
PS2, golfing.
List your role models.
My Mother - she had to raise three kids and kept us on the right path
in life. My mom has proved time and time again that no matter what happens
in life, everything will be OK and that you'll always have family to help
you out.
List your career goals.
Graduate from UWRF this December and then begin working for Polaris
Industries. Also to obtain a degree in golf course management.
Who have been your biggest football supporters?
My Mother, Father, sister and many other family members and friends.
Not to forget my nephew Tyler.
Coach John O'Grady comments:
Neal has been exemplary in his approach to the game. He has
earned the Iron Falcon, which means he never missed an off-season workout.
He has also been exemplary as a player-coach - helping our young fullbacks
learn the position. He is a team guy and the staff appreciates his great
attitude."
