SNC Wins NCHA Peters Cup Title

St. Norbert scored five first period goals and went on to win the NCHA Peters Cup Playoff Championship, 5-2, over UW-Superior Saturday night at the Conerstone Arena.

Kelly Wosnack scored a power-play goal at 5:20 of the first period to give SNC the lead. Kyle Peterson assisted. At 9:41, Trent Dickson scored to make it 2-0 with assists to Jeremy Mitchell and Michael Buchan. The Green Knights, now 26-1-2 overall, went ahead 3-0 at 13:57 when Andy Trann scored a power-play goal with assists to Jason Deitsch and Ryan Tew. NSC kept the pressure on and scored again at 18:04. Buchan got the goal with assists to Deitsch and Faron Duthie. Just 43 seconds later SNC scored again. Deitsch got the game with Connor Hughes picking up the lone assist. UWS made it a 5-1 game at 10:44 of the second period when Ryan Melbourne scored with assists to Jay Dardis and Bryan Konkel. UWS, now 21-6-2, scored again at 17:56 of the third period. Derek Miller got the goal with Dardis and Beau Moyer assisting.

SNC goalie Chancy Colquhoun made 19 saves to get the win. UWS's Nathan Ziemski stopped 21 shots.

SNC won its third playoff title with the others coming in 1998 and 1999. SNC earns the NCHA's automatic berth into the NCAA Div. III national tournament.
