UWS's Mike Wiggins Named 2005
NCHA Men's Player of the Year

Feb. 28, 2005 UW-Superior forward Mike Wiggins has been named the 2005 men's NCHA Player of the Year. Wiggins, a 5-6, 165 pound senior from Calgary, Alta., was the top goal
scorer in the NCHA with 13. He finished second in points in league games
with 22 in 14 contests. He led the NCHA with eight power-play goals and
three game-winners. He also scored one short-handed goal. In 25 games
for UWS he has 25 goals and 41 points. He scored 12 power-play goals,
four game-winners and two short-handed goals. In the Feb. 13 NCAA Div.
III statistical report he was third in the nation in goals, seventh in
points and tied for first in power-play goals. Wiggins was twice named
the NCHA's Player of the Week in 2004-05 - on Nov. 29 and again on Jan.
24. In 2005 he was named to the first All-NCHA team and he earned honorable
mention to the 2004 team.
