Feb. 28, 2005

Thirteen players, including three who were named to the first team for the third straight year, have been named to the 2005 men's All-NCHA team.

UW-Superior defenseman Dale Lupul, St. Norbert defenseman Ryan Tew and St. Norbert forward Jason Deitsch have all been named to the first team for the third straight year. Lupul earned honorable mention honors in 2002 and he was the top scoring defenseman in the NCHA with 17 points in 2005.

St. Norbert's Andrew Derton and UW-Stout's Mike Kautz were also named to the first team as defensemen.

St. Norbert's Kyle Jones and UW-Superior's Mathieu Bonnelly were the two goalies named to the first team. Jones had the lowest goals against average (1.15) and highest saves percentage (.950) in the NCHA. Bonnelly finished second in goals against average (2.12).

UW-Superior's Mike Wiggins and UW-Eau Claire's Rob Ouimette were forwards named to the first team. Both earned honorable mention to the All-NCHA team in 2004. UW-Stevens Point's Mike Brolsma and Adam Kostichka and UW-River Falls' Garrett Larson round out the first team forwards. Brolsma led the NCHA in scoring with 27 points while Wiggins finished second with 22.

Fourteen players (four goalies, four defensemen, six forwards) earned honorable mention.
