Sarah Asbeck

Red River High School

Sarah Asbeck is rebounding from ACL surgery. Her game is very solid and if she stays healthy she will add valuable depth and experience to this year's Falcons offensive attack. Sarah is also an outstanding passer and defensive player. She is the daughter of Thomas and Ann Asbeck. Majoring in elementary education. Prep coach was Terri Horpendahl.

Shantell Erbes

Shantell Erbes is the lone returning starter from last year's WIAC co-championship season. The Falcons look for Shantell to pick up where she left off last season, and that is both in the front and back rows. Offensively Shantell is very explosive and defensively she reads the opponents attack as well as anyone. She is the daughter of Tom and Faye Erbes. Majoring in business. Prep coach was Jane Passa.

Alicia Klinger

Alicia Klinger will be called upon to step into a starting role in her final year of competition. Alicia has great athletic ability which has helped her to adapt to the collegiate game. A fierce competitor, Alicia has come a long way and there's no doubt she can be an offensive weapon. Majoring in physical education. She is the daughter of LuAnn Friday and Harvey Klinger. Carmen Johnson

Carmen Johnson will be called upon to lead the Falcons as the setter for this year's team. Carmen has excellent setting skills to add to the Falcons offensive attack. She is the daughter of Denny and Mary Jo Kreibich. Majoring in education. Prep volleyball coach was Annette Wilder.

Tammy Thompson

Tammy Thompson has played in the most matches for the young Falcons. Tammy has been a significant force for the Falcons as a defensive specialist throughout her career. She too should be able to pick up where she left off last season. She is majoring in sociology. She is the daughter of Larry and Vicki Thompson. Prep volleyball coach was Milan Mader.

Stacey White has had a career plagued with injuries. She missed the 1994 season due to shoulder surgery and missed part of the 1995 season with a torn ACL. She is a fundamentally sound player who can add to the depth at the rightside hitting position. She is the daughter of William and Arlene White. Majoring in physical education. Linda Schoenrock came a long way during the spring season. Linda is a good athlete and will be looked upon to add some depth to the middle hitting position. She is physically strong and will help the Falcons as she gains more experience and confidence in her game. Majoring in physical education. She is the daughter of Dareld and Susan Schoenrock. Carrie Schwane is in a position to compete with the Falcons at the highest level. Carrie is an explosive jumper with tremendous desire to succeed. The Falcons look for her to definitely take another step this season with her production in the front row. Majoring in psychology. She is the daughter of Wally and Sherry. Sara Tibesar

Sara Tibesar joins the Falcons after playing two seasons at NCAA Division II powerhouse North Dakota State University. She will be an immediate impact player for the Falcons. Physically she is capable of dominating at the net from a hitting and blocking standpoint. Sara will fill the rightside position and is expected to give the Falcons a new look. Majoring in math education. She is the daughter of Rich and Judy. Prep volleyball coach was Terry Cartwright.

Wendy Vycital

RH, 6-0, Jr.
Elko, Minn.
New Prague High School

Wendy Vycital will add to the depth to the right side hitting position. A 6-0 lefty she adds a great attacking advantage to the Falcons offense. She is the daughter of Ron and Vicki Vycital. Majoring in pre-veterinary medicine. Prep volleyball coach was Jenean Erickson.

Sara Carlson

Harding High School

Sara Carlson is a solid volleyball player and has good court sense. Sara thrives on competition and will be competing for an outside hitting position. She jumps well, is a good athlete, and is very smart. It doesn't matter if the block is formed or not, Sarah has a shot to hit around it. She does whatever she needs to get the job done. Majoring in pre-veterinary medicine. She is the daughter of Richard and Patricia. Prep coach was Dennis Amends.

Beth is a good athlete and a very bright person which has helped her to adapt quickly to the collegiate game. Majoring in business She is the daughter of Gary and Vivian. Meggan Klassen

Meggan will be a big surprise to a lot of people. She improved her game this past spring. The Falcons look for Meggan to be a primary offensive weapon throughout the season. Meggan jumps well and she is a very good athlete with excellent blocking skills. Playing every day against All-Americans Cara Gustafson and Jen Frodl has definitely help her transition to collegiate volleyball. She is majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Carol Lehman and Ron Klassen. Her prep coach was Steve Chapin.

Toni is another good athlete with a good work ethic, and when you put those together she's going to be a good player. Toni has work hard and improved in all aspects of her game. A red-shirt her first season Toni will be a year stronger and smarter. The Falcons look for her to come into her own this season. She is majoring in physical education. She is the daughter of Tony and Bonnie Mechura. Her prep coach was Andy Elmer.

After a year of setting, Sara will be focusing this season on defense. Sara has good instincts for the game and great leadership skills which will only enhance her position on the court. Majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Fred and Marilyn. Her prep coach was Sara Prachak.

Lisa Erickson

High School: Three-time letter winner...club team Superior Coast...Personal: Parents Jackie and Curt Erickson. Majoring in geology. Coaches Comment: "Lisa is well trained at the middle position. She will need to work on her strength and conditioning to help her endure the rigors of the Falcons middle attack."

Becky Hylland

Coaches Comment: "Becky is a great athlete. She is a very solid middle who can play the defensive end of the game. She has the potential to develop into a dominate middle hitter for the Falcons. Becky will be challenging for one of the middle hitting positions."

Melissa Mattson

Holly Olson

High School: 1994 State Tournament...four time all-St. Paul Suburban Conference team...all-Metro and all-State...holds the record for career assists. Personal: Parents Larry and Sue Olson. Majoring in social science. Coaches Comment: "Holly is a first-year setter, but plays like a veteran. I look for Holly to either set for the Falcon attack or play as a defensive specialist during her first year."

Andrea Ellsworth
