Swimmers Set Records at WIAC Meet; Future is Bright

Feb. 22, 2003

The Falcons broke five team records at the 2003 WIAC Championships.

Megan Broskoff broke her records with wins in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. She made the Div. III national "B" standards list.

Brandon Van Vleet broke his team record in the 50 freestyle. He joined with teammates Jon Jarvis, Tedd Chapman and Ryan Smaagard to break the record in the 400 free relay. VanVleet, Jarvis, Smaagard and Jason Hallom teamed up to break the school record in the 200 free relay.

The Falcon swimmers put up 28 all-time UWRF Top 10 times during the 2003 season. All nine of the Falcon men's swimmers are eligible to return next year and the incoming freshmen should make the 2004 team one of the best in school history.

The women will be losing seniors Kenzie Flanscha, Emily Genal and Amy LaMott, all scorers at the conference meet, and the team will also be without Sara Dado who will be graduating this spring. Head Coach Bill Henderson hopes the group of incoming freshman women will compensate for the loss of these valuable swimmers.
