Falcon Swimmers of the Week

Feb. 4, 2002 Emily Genal (Jr., Green Bay, Wis. Pulaski HS) had three lifetime best swims for the Falcons against St. Marys. She had a time of 2:39.31 in the 200 fly, a time of 1:11.41 in the 100 fly and her split in the 200 medley relay was also a lifetime best. She placed first in the 200 fly. Brandon VanVleet (So., Grandy, Minn. Cambridge-Isanti HS) had lifetime best swims, and he set a school record, for the Falcons against St. Marys. He had a lifetime best and set the school record in the 50 free in a time of 21.8. He also had lifetime bests in the 500 free in 5:16.28 and in the 200 IM in 2:10.19. He won all three events.
Jan. 21, 2002 Kenzie Flanscha (Jr., River Falls, Wis.) swam season-best times in the 50 back and 100 back (1:06.49). "Shes has been in the water for two weeks after missing six weeks with a broken hand," Coach Doug Naylor said. Ryan Hawke (Fr., Little Canada, Minn. Roseville HS) swam season-best times in the 200 IM (2:15.57) by four seconds and in the 100 back (1:03.83) by 1.3 seconds.
Dec. 10, 2001 Miranda Walker (Fr., Cottage Grove, Minn. Park HS) had season-best
times in three events against Luther, according to Coach Doug Naylor.
She had a time of 1:12.9 in the 100 back and a time of 1:08.83 in the
100 free.
Dec. 3, 2001 Amy LaMott (Jr., Burnsville, Minn.) had season best times in every
race, except one, that she swan in at the Titan Invitational, according
to Coach Doug Naylor. In the 200 back she finished in 2:29.43, she finshed
in 1:09.98 in the 100 back and she had a time of 28.04 in the 50 free.
Nov. 12, 2001 Megan Broskoff (Fr., Albert Lea, Minn.) had three excellent swims
for the Falcons against Macalester and had three season-best times. She
won two individual events and helped the 200 medley relay to a first place
finish. She swam a 2:24.32 in the 200 IM which is a season-best time.
She improved her time by 3.38 seconds. In the 100 breaststroke she finished
in 1:11.24 and improved her season-best time by 1.2 seconds. In the relay,
the team finished in 2:00.4 and she swam the breaststroke in :32.45, also
a season-best time.
Nov. 5, 2001 Ali York (Sr., Antioch, Ill. Conestoga Valley HS) swam an outstanding race in the 1,000-yard free at Hamline on Friday. She placed second in the race in 12:18.88. It was a 19-second improvement in her time from two weeks ago. She also placed fifth in the 500 free in 6:06.92. "Alis 500 time is way ahead of last year at this time," Coach Doug Naylor said. Chris Borman (Fr., Chippewa Falls, Wis.) swam two lifetime best times against Hamline on Friday to help the Falcons to the win. He won the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.19 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:44.24.
Oct. 22, 2001 Amber Wuollet (So., Shakopee, Minn.) won both the 1,000 free and 500 free in a dual meet with Oshkosh on Friday. She swam a 11:44.41 in the 1,000 and a 5:43.2 in the 500. "Both of her times on Friday were faster than last year in the same meet," Coach Doug Naylor said. On Saturday she swam a 100 fly that equaled her lifetime best. She was also part of two other relays. Brandon VanVleet (So., Grandy, Wis. Cambridge HS) won the 200 free in 1:53.59 and the 500 free in 5:31.44 in a dual meet against Oshkosh on Friday. "Brandons 200 free time was six seconds faster than last year at this meet," Coach Doug Naylor said. Saturday he competed in eight races and in his last race, the 400 free relay, he equaled his pre-shaved season-best time from last year.
Oct. 15, 2001 Cassie Fisher (So., Inver Grove Heights, Minn. Simley HS) swam
her best times ever in the five events at the Mankato Pentathlon. She
had a 26.93 in the free, a 37.25 in the breaststroke, a 1:11.29 in the
IM, a 32.2 in the back and a 31.67 in the fly. Her combined time of 3:19.34
placed her 15th overall. Eli Eschenbauch (Fr., Minocqua, Wis. Lakeland Union HS) had a strong first collegiate meet for the Falcons at the Mankato Pentathlon. He had a 26.8 in the free, a 36.58 in the breaststroke, a 1:12.33 in the IM, a 35.8 in the back and a 31.15 in the fly. He had a combined time of 3:22.66. |
