Gilfillan, Jennrich, King Named to All-WIAC Team

Falcon soccer players Amy Gilfillan (Jr., Cottage Grove, Minn.), Apryl Jennrich (Jr., Lino Lakes, Minn.) and Libbi King (Fr., Green Bay, Wis.) have all been named to the 2002 All-WIAC team.

Gilfillan, a forward, led the WIAC in scoring this year finishing with 36 goals and 76 points in 20 games. The 36 goals is a UWRF and WIAC record for goals in a season. The 76 points is also a UWRF and WIAC record for points in a season.

Jennrich, a goalie, finished with an 11-5-2 record with a 1.42 goals against average. She tied for third in the WIAC in goals against average. She averaged 10.22 saves a game, also third in the WIAC.

King, a defender, was a stalwart in the middle of the Falcon defense this year. She consistently played well against other teams' top offensive players and helped the Falcons make the transition from defense to offense.

UWRF finished with a 13-5-2 overall record. The 13 wins sets a single season record. UWRF finished in a tie for third place in the WIAC standings with a 4-3-1 record. The Falcons won a first round play off game over UW-Whitewater, 2-1, but lost to eventual playoff champion, Stevens Point, 4-1 in the semifinals.
