Falcon Women's Hockey Player of the Week

Feb. 10, 2003

Forward Megan Wahlstrom-Ramler (So., Champlin, Minn. Champlin Park HS) helped the Falcons to two NCHA wins last weekend. The Falcons topped Lake Forest on Friday, 3-2 and on Saturday 8-1. Friday she picked up two assists, In Saturday's win she scored twice and had two more assists. She finished the week with two goals and four assists for six points.




Feb. 3, 2003

Goalie Marlene Yaeger (So., Medina, Minn.) played a key role in helping the Falcons gain three of four points at UW-Stevens Point last weekend. The two teams battled to a 1-1 tie in overtime on Friday and the Falcons won a 3-2 decision on Saturday against the first place Pointers. In Friday’s 1-1 tie, Yaeger stopped 42 of 43 shots. In Saturday’s 3-2 win she made 35 saves. In the two games she stopped 75-78 shots and had a .961 saves percentage.

 

 

 

Jan. 21, 2003

Forward Lou Paulson (Fr., Duluth, Minn. Proctor-Hermantown HS) helped lead the Falcons to a 4-2 win over St. Thomas at Hunt Arena. Paulson scored three goals, all in the first period, in the game to get the hat trick. She opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 7:36. After a second Falcon goal, she scored her second at 9:20 and her third just eight seconds later. She has six goals and eight assists for 14 points this year.

 

 

 

Jan. 13, 2003

Defenseman Lindsy Carlson (Jr., Two Harbors, Minn. Duluth East HS) played two strong games for the Falcons in the series against UW-Stevens Point. The Falcons split the two games but with Friday's win stayed in first place in the NCHA standings. In Saturday's 2-0 win Carlson got an assist on the game-winning goal. In Sunday's 3-2 loss, she scored the team's first goal, while on the power play, and had an assists on the team's second goal, also a power-play score.

 

 

 

Dec. 9, 2002

Forward Ali Slinden (Fr., Dassel, Minn. (Litchfield-Dassel-Cokato HS) helped the Falcons to a NCHA sweep (4-0, 6-1) of UW-Superior last weekend at Hunt Arena. In Friday's win she scored the hat trick to lead UWRF to the win. She scored once in the first period and two more in the third. In Saturday's game she added a goal, the team's sixth, and had an assist on the team's fourth goal.

 

 

Nov. 4, 2002

Goalie Marlene Yaeger (So., Medina, Minn.) helped the Falcons to a 5-3 win over Augsburg and a 1-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus last weekend. In the 5-3 win over Augsburg, Yaeger stopped 19 shots, and in the 1-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus she stopped all 23 shots she faced. For the week, she stopped 42 of the 45 shots she faced, for a .933 saves percentage. Gustavus was ranked No. 6 in the USCHO pre-season poll.
