Yaeger, Hensch, Wahlstrom-Ramler Named to First Team


Five Falcons Named to All-NCHA Women's Hockey Team

Five Falcon women's hockey players have been named to the 2002 All-NCHA teams.

Goalie Marlene Yaeger (Fr., Medina, Minn.), defenseman Jodi Hensch (So., Fergus Falls, Minn.) and forward Megan Wahlstrom-Ramler (Fr., Champlin, Minn.) were all named to the first team. Defensemen Beth Betker (So., Corcoran, Minn.) and Katie Hiscock (Fr., Bemidji, Minn.) were given honorable mention.

Yaeger played in 25 of the team's 27 games this year and finished with a 13-9-3 record. She had a 1.83 goals against average and a .929 saves percentage. She had two shutouts. Hensch finished seventh on the team in scoring with four goals and eight assists for 12 points. She scored three power-play goals. Wahlstrom-Ramler tied for second on the team in scoring. She had six goals and a team-high 12 assists for 18 points. She had one power-play goal and one game-winner.

Betker was fifth in scoring for the Falcons. She had four goals and 10 assists for 14 points. Katie Hiscock scored oen goal and two assists thid year for three points.

UWRF finished 13-11-3 overall and 8-6-2 in the NCHA and in third place. The Falcons reached the NCHA playoff championship game for the second straight year. The Falcons won the 2001 playoff title and fininshed second this year.
