Six members of the Falcon women's hockey team have been named to the 2001 All-NCHA team. Defensemen Lindsy Carlson (Fr., Two Harbors, Minn.) and Beth Betker (Fr., Corcoran, Minn.) and forwards Elisa Best (Fr., Duluth, Minn.) and Mandy Stokes (Jr., Amery, Wis.) were all named to the first team. Defenseman Hattie Hoff (Sr., Red Wing, Minn.) and forward Keri Deschene (So., Burnsville, Minn.) both received honorable mention. Carlson, who was also named the NCHA Player of the Year, led the team in scoring with 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points. She had three power-play goals and one game-winner. Betker is a solid defenseman who had six goals and six assists for 12 points. She had two game-winning goals. Best was second on the team in scoring with 18 goals and 11 assists for 29 points. Her 18 goals led the team. She had one short-handed goal and three game-winners. Stokes finished fourth in scoring on the team with 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points. She had one power-play goal, led the team with two short-handed goals and had one game-winner. Hoff finished with four goals and 12 assists for 16 points. She had three power-play goals and one game-winning goal. Deschene finished fifth in scoring with nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points. She had three power-play goals and one game-winner. The Falcons placed second in the NCHA with an 11-5 record and won the
NCHA playoff championship, 2-1 over UW-Superior. |
