Falcon defenseman Lindsy Carlson (Fr., Two Harbors, Minn.) has been named the 2001 Women's NCHA Player of the Year.

Carlson, 5-4, attended Duluth East High School. In 16 NCHA games she finished with four goals and nine assists for 13 points. In the team's 27 games she scored 11 goals and had 18 assists for 29 points, second on the team. She had two power-play goals and two game-winners.

The award is voted on by league coaches and this is the first year that the it has been given.
