Falcon Rich Melzer (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches/Pontiac Division III All-West Region team.

Melzer led the Falcons, which finished 17-9 overall and 9-7 in the WIAC, in scoring averaging 21.6 points a game and rebounding with 7.8 a game. He was 232-453 (.512) from the field and 96-128 (.750) from the line. He led the team with 55 blocks and had 40 assists and 17 steals. He averaged 34.2 minutes played a game. Earlier this year he was named to the first All-WIAC team.

He joins five others on the first All-West team. Five players were named to the second team and five others to a third team. Eighty-eight players from eight districts are now eligible for the Division III All-American team which will be announced at the end of the NCAA men's basketball season.
