Feb. 26, 2001 Forward Jeff Bernard (5-11, 205, Sr, Enfield, Conn.) helped lead the Falcons to the NCHA Finals, which will be held this weekend at UW-Superior. The Falcons beat St. Norbert, two games to one, to advance to the Finals. In Friday's 2-1 Falcon win over St. Norbert, Bernard scored the team's first goal of the game. The goal came with the Falcons on the power-play. In Saturday's 5-2 loss, Bernard scored another power-play goal. But it was in overtime of the minigame where Bernard made the difference. He scored the game-winner at 2:04 of overtime to advance the Falcons.
Feb. 19, 2001 Forward Jeff Bernard (Sr., Enfield, Conn.) helped lead the Falcons to two wins over Lake Forest and a sweep of the NCHA first-round series. The Falcons won on Friday, 4-3 and took a 3-1 win on Saturday. Bernard scored the teamıs first goal on Friday and came back with a goal and an assist on the game-winning goal on Saturday.
Feb. 12, 2001 Forward Rob Novak (Fr., 5-7, 155, Hayward, Wis.) helped the Falcons to two NCHA and WIAC wins last weekend. The Falcons finished second in the NCHA and won the WIAC title with a 7-1 record. In the team's 7-3 win at UW-Stevens Point he had two goals and one assist. In Saturday's 3-1 win at UW-Eau Claire he finished with one assist.
Feb. 5, 2001 Goalie Jacque Vezina (5-10, 185, So, Hudson, Wis.) helped the Falcons to two WIAC wins last weekend over Eau Claire (7-1) and Stevens Point (5-2). Against Eau Claire he stopped 24 shots and came back with 27 saves against Stevens Point. He had a .944 saves percentage in the two games.
Jan. 8, 2001 Goalie Jacque Vezina (So., Hudson, Wis.) helped the Falcons to two wins last weekend. At Gustavus Adolphus he allowed just one goal and stopped 15 shots. Against St. Olaf he allowed two goals and stopped 19 shots. He had a .918 saves percentage in the two games.
Dec. 18, 2000 Defenseman Adam Kragthorpe (So., 5-11, 205, Plymouth, Minn.) helped the Falcons to a 1-1 week. Friday against Augsburg he had two goals, including a power-play goal in the team's win. Saturday he scored one goal.
Nov. 20, 2000 Evan Stensrud (So., Minnetonka, Minn.) scored one goal and had four assists as the Falcons improved their overall record to 8-0-1 with a 5-2 win over St. Mary's and a 5-4 win over St. Thomas.
Nov. 13, 2000 Forward Jess Johnson (Fr., Bloomington, Minn.) He scored two goals and dished out four assists for the Falcons this weekend. He had one goal and two assists in each game, a 6-1 win over St. Scholastica and a 5-2 win over Superior.
Nov. 6, 2000 Defenseman Adam Kragthorpe (So., Plymouth, Minn.) helped the Falcons to two WIAC wins over UW-Stout. In Friday's 7-2 win he scored one goal and had two assists and in Saturday's 5-2 win he scored one goal and one assist.
Oct. 23, 2000 Defenseman Adam Kragthorpe (So., Plymouth, Minn.) scored one goal and had one assist in the two Falcon games. He scored the only Falcon goal in the team's 1-1 tie on Friday and pick up the second assists on the team's first goal on Saturday. |
