Six members of the Falcon men's hockey team have been named to the 2001 All-NCHA team. Goalie Jacque Vezina (So., Hudson, Wis.), defensemen Eliot Komar (Sr., Seattle, Wash.) and Adam Kragthorpe (So., Plymouth, Minn.) and forward Jeff Bernard (Sr., Enfield, Conn.) were all named to the first team. Forwards Jess Johnson (Fr., Bloomington, Minn.) and Evan Stensrud (So., Minnetonka, Minn.) received honorable mention. Vezina, who received honorable mention to the 2000 team, was the team's top goalie. He has a 17-8-2 record with a 2.42 goals against average and a .905 saves percentage. This is the third year that Komar has been named to the first team. He is a solid defensive defenseman who has nine assists. Kragthorpe, who was named to the first team last year, gives the Falcons some additional scoring talents from the blue line. He leads all Falcon defensemen with nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points. He has three power-play goals and one game-winner. Bernard leads the team in goals with 21and with his 24 assists, leads the team with 45 points. He leads the team with nine power-play goals and he has two game-winners. Johnson, who is second on the team in scoring has 13-24-37 including six power-play goals and two game-winners. His 24 assists ties for the team lead. Stensrud, who is third on the team in scoring, has 10goals and 21 assists for 31points. He has five power-play goals and two game-winners. The Falcons placed second in the NCHA with a 10-4 record and finished
second in the NCHA playoffs. |
