Feb. 18, 2002 Erin Holly (Sr., Reedsburg, Wis. WEBB HS) had solid efforts on all three events she competed on in the teams meet at La Crosse. She had a 7.625 on the beam, a 9.225 in floor exercise and a 7.6 on the bars. "We made a switch in Erins bar routine and she did a nice job with it. She missed one element, but made a great recovery from it. Her floor exercise routine was her best of the year. She had a great beam routine even though she fell during her last element," Coach Jeanne DeLisle said.
Feb. 11, 2002 Angie Garin (Sr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn Simley HS) finished with an all-around score of 34.275 in the four-team meet at the Karges Center Friday night. She scored an 8.925 in floor exercise, an 8.95 in the vault, a 7.65 on the bars and an 8.75 on the beam. "Angie had a nice meet. She added difficulty to her floor routine and has been working hard in the gym. I think well see something even better from Angie very soon," Coach Jeanne DeLisle said.
Feb. 4, 2002 Tiffany Reber (Jr., Kasson, Minn. Kasson-Mantorville HS) had a strong meet at the Gershon/McLelland Invitational at UW-La Crosse. "Tiffany hit all of her events," Coach Jeanne DeLisle said. She finished eighth in the all-around with a 35.5 total. She scored a She was the top finisher for the Falcons in three events floor (9.45), beam (8.8) and vault (9.1).
Jan. 28, 2002 Ashley Nelson (So., Darwin, Minn. Litchfield HS) helped the Falcons to a season-high team point total (179.175) in the six-team Cardinal Classic held at Ball State, Ind. She led the Falcons on the bars and finished with a score of 8.75, a personal best. She also had a personal best in floor exercise with a 9.15. "Ashley had a fantastic meet and didnt make any mistakes," Coach Jeanne DeLisle said.
Dec. 17, 2001 Katie Mitchell (So., Easton, Md.) helped the Falcons to a season-high team score and a win against three other teams on Friday. The Falcons scored 170.075 points to beat Whitewater, Stout and Hamline. Mitchell placed second in the all-around with a 34.975. She finished just .025 points behind Hamlines Melissa Stanton, who won the NCGA national all-around title last year. "Katie has shown great improvement from last year to this year," Coach Jeanne DeLisle said. "Her added strength and endurance has been a factor for her this year. Placing second in the all-around against the gymnasts who were here on Friday is outstanding." She placed third on the beam with an 8.75, fifth in vaulting with 8.825, third in floor exercise with a 9.2 and tied for fifth on the bars with 8.2.
Dec. 10, 2001 Ashley Nelson (So., Darwin, Minn. Litchfield HS) scoreds an 8.15 in floor exercise and a 7.4 on the bars in the teams meet at Gustavus Adolphus on Friday. "Ashley had a good meet. Shes coming off an injury and did fantastic," Coach Jeanne DeLisle said. |
