Amy Brooke is in her fourth year with the Falcons as a pitcher. After her freshman and sophomore seasons she was named to the All-WIAC team and earned All-American Scholar-Athlete honors. Last year she was named to the WIAC Honorable Mention team. Brooke is majoring in animal science with a minor in farm management. After graduation this May she will pursue a career in the livestock industry. Amy enjoys playing volleyball, reading and spending time on the farm. Amanda Moxon
SS, 5-6, B-R, T-R, #9, Jr, New Richland, Minn.
New Richland-Heartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School


Amanda Moxon is in her fourth and final year at UWRF, but will be competing in her third season with the Falcons. Due to an injury suffered in the fall of 2001 she had to take some time off, but is now ready to get back on the diamond and help the team to a successful season. Her team goals for the season consist of playing together as a team, keeping positive attitudes, and
most of all having fun. Moxon will graduate in May with a major in health and human performance and minors in business administration and coaching. Moxon will be attending graduate school at Minnesota State in Mankato in the Fall of 2003 to obtain a masters degree in Sports Administration. In her free time, "Mox" enjoys rollerblading, playing basketball and volleyball, and hanging out with friends and family. She is the daughter of Jeff and Michele Moxon. Meghann Mulligan
1B, B-R, T-R, #14, Sr, Coon Rapids, Minn.
Coon Rapids High School


Meghann Mulligan is in her fourth year with the Falcons and plays first base. After her freshman season she was named to the All-WIAC and All-Great Lakes Regional teams. She was an All-American Scholar-Athlete and the team's defensive player of the year. She was given honorable mention to the 2001 All-WIAC team. Mulligan is a four-year tennis letter winner at UWRF and was the WIAC tennis Scholar-Athlete last fall. She was also on the golf team this past fall. Her goals for this season are to play competitively and have fun. She is majoring in health & human performance K-12 education, and is earning a coaching minor. Her hobbies are playing golf, roller blading and photography. She is the daughter of Marge and Tom Mulligan. Favorite quote: "The most wasted of all days are those without laughter."

Abby Keene

For the past two years Abby has been rotating in left field and is looking forward to the move to center this year. As a third year player she brings experience to the outfield. This year Abby’s individual goals are to lessen her strike outs increase her batting average and to improve her skills individually and as a team. Abby is currently majoring in Math (Secondary Education) with a coaching minor. Her goal is to someday teach and coach at the high school level. This past fall she was admitted to the Teacher Education Program, which is one of many small steps towards achieving her goal. Abby is the daughter of Dwight and Renee Keene. Anna Poulter

After making the adjustment to right field as a freshman, Anna is ready to return to the infield and take over the catching duties. Anna's individual goals include more stolen bases and less strike outs. Anna has earned both All-Conference Athletic honors and All-Conference Academic honors, along with being named to the Dean's List multiple times. Anna is majoring in Health
and Human performance, but plans on attending graduate school to earn her masters in Athletic Administration. Her dream job is to coach a college fastpitch team. Melissa Turbak

Melissa Turbak is in her third year with the Falcons and plays second base. She was voted the team's Most Improved Player in her freshman season. After her sophomore season she was named to the All-WIAC first team and All-Great Lakes Regional third team. Melissa also was the team’s offensive player of the year for 2002. Her personal goals this season are to continue to improve all parts of her game and to have a consistent bat. Her team goal is to always play as a team. Melissa's major is business administration. Her hobbies include playing hockey, rollerblading, and being with friends and family. She is the daughter of Craig and Mary Turbak. Devanie Bigalk is in her 2nd year with the Falcons after taking last year off. During her freshman year she was named to the All-WIAC West Div. Team and earned All-Conference honors as a pitcher. Dev's goals this season are to increase the speed on her pitches and have fun. Some of her hobbies are spending time with her family and friends, traveling, playing with her chocolate lab, and collecting "I Love Lucy" paraphanalia. Tiffany Blumer

Tiffany Blumer is in her second year with the Falcons this year. She played 3rd base last year for the Falcons. She was the Falcons 2001-2002 Most Improved Player and also made the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. She is majoring in Nursing and loves American Sign Language. She is the daughter of Val and Rick Blumer and has one sister, Brooke, a brother, Nik and a nephew, Devin. Her hometown is Albany, WI. Emily Evans

Emily Evans is a graduate of White Bear Lake Area High School, where she played on the high school softball and hockey teams. Her positions in softball are third base, pitcher, and first base. Emily has two awesome parents named Dale and Marie, who have been very supportive through everything in her life. She also has an older brother named Bryan that goes to UW-Milwaukee. Her hobbies include camping, fishing, singing in choir, and playing every sport possible. Emily’s favorite book is Harry Potter. She is majoring in Health and Human Performance and minoring in Communicative Disorders. Her favorite memory of last year was playing softball in Florida and can’t wait to go again. Holly Olson

This is Holly’s second year with the team and her personal goals for this season are to utilize her at bats in a multi-threat way and be able to do several different jobs at the plate. She also wants to have some fun in the field, and keep to minimal errors. Holly’s team goals for the season are to get a lead with good offence and hold it with excellent defense. She wants the team to win games, and win big as well as to play at their own level at all times! Holly’s hobbies are playing a variety of sports, swimming, dancing, art, traveling, Nintendo, shopping, photography, collecting turtles, and spending time with friends and family. Holly is majoring in Communicative Disorders (Speech Language Pathology) with a minor in Coaching. Someday Holly would like to have an Old English Sheep dog, travel to many other countries, visit every state in the US (35 left!) and live in a warm climate area! Her family members consist of her Dad, Brad Mom, Linda, and sister Jackie(Chan). Emily Rodgers

Emily Rodgers is in her second year with the Falcons. She is majoring in Social Work. In her free time she enjoys being active, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family. Emily is also a member of the UWRF women’s basketball and soccer teams. This year she hopes to bring hard work and enthusiasm to the fastpitch team while competing for a starting spot in the outfield. Her goals for the season are to focus on becoming a better hitter and to do well in the conference as a team. Emily is the daughter of Christine Taylor-Rodgers. Leah Vanderploeg

Drummond High School


Leah Vanderploeg, a sophomore this year, was a tri-athlete at Drummond High School for four years playing basketball, softball and running cross country. She received 1st Team All-Conference ten out of her twelve seasons, received a major D in each sport as a freshman and was honored with the WIAA Scholar Athlete Award as a senior. Vanderploeg participated in two state meets in cross country. Her individual goals this year are to have more movement on her pitches and to have fun. Vanderploeg's major is biology with a minor in chemistry and she would like to have a career in the medical field. Leah is the daughter of Ron and Lora Vanderploeg. Carolyn Guisinger

Osseo High School


Carolyn Guisinger is in her first year with the Falcons. At Osseo, Minn, Senior High School, she was a three time letter winner in softball. As a versatile player, Guisinger played 2B, P, OF, 3B, and C. She led the Osseo Orioles High School team in extra base hits and RBI's both her junior and senior years also leading the team in batting average her junior year. She finished with a career .340 batting average and a .489 slugging pct, was voted co-captain her senior year, and was named all-conference honorable mention her junior and senior years. Her individual goals include improving as an all-around player and to learn how to catch and play 1B like the back of her hand. She is considering psychology as a major with a Spanish minor, although she is currently undecided. She is the daughter of Bob and Stephanie Guisinger. Kristen Halberg

Como Park High School


This is Kristen's first year with the Falcons. In High School Kristen was on the varsity swim team for five years and was the starting catcher on the varsity softball team for three years. In swimming she recieved All Conference Honorable Mention for four years, broke a couple school records and was captain and MVP her senior year. In softball she received All Conference two years as well as All State Honorable Mention her senior year and was captain her senior year. She will be majoring in Art Education K-12 and is excited to be a part of the Falcon softball team. As a redshirt this year she will be focused on working hard and soaking up all the knowledge and skills she can to become a stronger ball player offensively and defensively. Kristen is the proud daughter of Fred and Lois Halberg and has one sister, Kelsey, and one brother, Matthew. In her spare time she enjoys playing Skip-Bo, Catch Phrase, Sequence and Clue (to name a few). She also does a fair amount of swimming and is very interested in the Arts. Frances Hilpisch

Last season, as a senior in high school, Franny played both volleyball and softball at the varsity level, gaining All Conference Awards three years in a row as well as All State honors her senior year. The team also earned two sectional titles. Franny is the daughter of John and Liz Hilpisch, and the proud older sister of five siblings. She also has a dog and two cats who she loves dearly. Franny is majoring in Health and Human Performance, and hopes to teach someday. Her favorite movie is "A League of Their Own," and is reminded by her teammate Holly that her favorite quote from the movie is "dirt in the skirt!” Franny swears that by living up to this motto she can help the team by doing her favorite thing – getting dirty! Jen Lundborg

Jen is in her first year with the Falcons, and as a redshirt, she is focusing on honing her skills to be ready for next year, cheering on her teammates from the bench and of course, having fun. Jen played volleyball, basketball, and softball at the varsity level in high school, earning All Conference Honorable Mention her sophomore and junior years and All Conference her senior year in softball. As a senior, she helped lead her team to sectional finals, the farthest the team has ever advanced. Jen is a biology major with a chemistry minor and plans to go on to become a veterinarian. She is the daughter of Todd and Jill Lundborg, and has one younger brother,Phil. In her spare time (what little there is), Jen enjoys reading, being outside, doing anything athletic, and hanging out with friends and family, especially her favorite cousin. Jessamy Schwartz is in her fisrt year as a Falcon. In high school shw played volleyball and softball where she was named All-Conference. Her other activities included cross-country skiing. In 2002 she was named Outstanding Athlete of the Year. Her favorite activites include snowboarding, wakeboarding, and rollderblading. Her favorite movies are Monster's, Inc. and Lord of the Rings. She is majoring in conservation where she hopes someday to work outdoors. She is the daughter of Paul and Susan. Emily Stahl

As a transfer student from University of Minnesota-Duluth, Emily Stahl is in her first year with the Falcons. She was a three sport athlete at Como Park High School in St. Paul, Minn. She was captain of the volleyball and basketball teams and was awarded all-conference four times. In softball she was a captain for two years and was twice awarded All-Conference. She also was named to the all state honorable mention team along with being given the Athena Award for her high school. Her personal goals include, getting back to the level of play that she was at before her year off and being flawless in the field. Emily's major field of study is business and she is pursuing a Spanish minor. She is the daughter of Mike and Julie Stahl and has one sister Melanie.
