Lindsey Becker

North High School


Lindsey Becker is one of the team’s seniors and is in her final year with the Falcons. She has played in 89 career games and has a .241 career batting average. She is majoring in biology and minoring in conservation. She would like to work for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service or the DNR as a wildlife/fisheries biologist. (She would consider being a professional billiards player or owning a bait shop with teammate Amanda Jo Decker.) Her hobbies include fishing, hunting, camping, riding her motorcycle with her family, playing pool, reading Harry Potter books and collecting Calvin and Hobbs comic books. Her parents are Char and Greg Becker. Her goals for season include having fun, being a reliable, consistent hitter and to be consistent behind the plate too. Tiffany Blumer
SS/OF, 5-4, B-S, T-R, #10, Fr, Albany, Wis.
Albany High School


Tiffany Blumer is in her first year with the Falcons. In high school she was a four-sport athlete. She was named to the all-conference softball team for three straight seasons and was her team’s Most Valuable Player three times. She was named to the East All-Star team. In basketball she was given honorable mention to the All-State team after being named to the all-conference first team three times and was a four-time team Most Valuable Player. In cross country she helped her team to the 2000 WIAA State Championship when she placed 10th overall. She qualified for the State Meet twice, was twice named to the first all-conference team and was twice her team’s Most Valuable Runner. She competed two years in volleyball. In track she was her team’s Most Valuable Performer twice and was named to the all-conference team twice in the 800-meter run. She qualified for the State Meet in two relay events. She is the daughter of Val and Rick Blumer and has one sister, Brooke, and one brother, Nik. She is majoring in biology and pre-med. Amy Brooke

Amy Brooke is in her third year with the Falcons as a pitcher. In 59 career games she has compiled a 24-21 record with a 1.77 ERA. She has pitched 288 2/3 career innings. After her freshman season she was named to the All-WIAC team and earned All-American Scholar- Athlete honors. Last year she was again named to the All-WIAC team. Brooke is majoring in animal science with a minor in farm management. She enjoys playing volleyball, reading and spending time on the farm. This year she hopes to become a more confident pitcher and a more consistent hitter. Her parents are Dianne and Jeff Brooke.

Amanda Jo Decker

Amanda Jo Decker is one of the seniors on their year’s Falcon squad. She was named the Falcon Most Improved Player after the 1999 season. She has pitched in 138 career games and has 169 2/3 innings. Decker is majoring in health and human performance K-12 with a minor in outdoor education. She would like to work in the sport strength and conditioning field or teach physical education. Her hobbies are fishing, quilting, reading, playing cards, exercising, drinking coffee, making coffee and collecting coffee paraphernalia. She has also been a truck driver in the Army National Guard. She is the daughter of Colleen Gallagher and Dennis and Cindy Decker. Emily Evans

White Bear Lake High School


Emily Evans is in her first year with the Falcons. She played softball and hockey at White Bear Lake, Minn., High School. She was a captain of the softball team and was given honorable mention to the all-conference team. She is the daughter of Marie and Dale and has an older brother, Bryan. She is majoring in sociology with a minor in criminal justice. She hopes to someday be a police officer in the canine unit. She enjoys camping with her family. Her favorite movie is The Sound of Music, and her favorite book is Harry Potter. She was a pitcher in high school but has enjoyed the move to third base with the Falcons. Angie Garin

Simley High School


Angie Garin is in her senior season with the Falcons. She was a starter for the Falcons in center field last year and finished the season with a .314 average - second on the team. Garin earned All-WIAC honorable mention honors last year. She is a four-year letter winner with the Falcon gymnastics team and competed in the NCGA National Champions the past two years. This year she was one of the team’s captains and helped the Falcons to a second place finish in the WIAC Championships. She is majoring in business administration with a minor in German. She would like to work in the sports marketing field. Her hobbies include roller blading and shopping. She is the daughter of Patt and Mark. Nicole Harberts

Nikki Harberts is in her second year with the Falcons. In 32 career games she has a .247 batting average. She is majoring in biology/pre-med with double minors in chemistry and French. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, camping, boating and spending time with family and friends. Nikki is also a member of the UWRF women’s basketball team. This year she hopes to bring leadership and experience to the fastpitch team. She is determined to become a confident and consistent hitter. Nikki is the daughter of Paul and Lynette Harberts. Amber Hedstrom

Amber Hedstrom is in her second year with the Falcons and played in six games for the Falcons last year. She recently had shoulder surgery and will recover from that during the 2002 season. Her team goal is to have everyone play to their fullest potential while having tons of fun. Her parents are Mark and Sharon. She is majoring in secondary education broad field social studies with an emphasis in history. She has a coaching minor. She would like to teach high school history and coach a sport in the future. She enjoys running, playing any sport and hanging out with friends and family. Abby Keene

This year as a sophomore Abby Keene hopes to fill an outfield position. As a freshman during the 2001 season Keene rotated in at left field. This year her team goals are to win conference, play together, and have fun. Individually she would like to improve her batting skills and then once on base, work on putting some steals under her belt. She is majoring in math secondary education and hopes to go on to teach and coach at the high school level. She enjoys playing sports, hanging out with her friends, and just having a good time. Meghann Mulligan

Meghann Mulligan is in her third year with the Falcons and plays first base. She has a .303 career batting average with 10 doubles, three triples and four homers. After her freshman season she was named to the All-WIAC and All-Great Lakes Regional teams. She was an All-American Scholar-Athlete and the team's defensive player of the year. She was given honorable mention to the 2001 All-WIAC team. Mulligan is a four-year tennis letter winner at UWRF and was the WIAC tennis Scholar-Athlete last fall. She is majoring in health & human performance K-12 education, and is earning a coaching minor. Her hobbies are playing golf, roller blading and photography. She is the daughter of Marge and Tom Mulligan.

Holly Olson
SS , 5-6, B-R, T-R, #11, Fr, Waconia, Minn.
Waconia High School


Holly Olson is in her first year with the Falcons and will play shortstop. At Waconia, Minn., High School she earned three letters in softball and was twice named to the all-conference team. She played in the 2001 All-Star tournament and was named to the all-section team twice. Olson was also named to the Coaches Association All-State first team and to the Star-Tribune All-State third team. She also earned three volleyball and four basketball letters. She was given all-conference honors in volleyball and earned honorable mention honors in basketball. In 2000 and 2001 she played in the 18 & Under National Tournaments. Olson’s personal goals are to prove herself in her first season at the collegiate level that all her years of softball have paid off and have taken her somewhere. She wants to improve while having fun. Her team goal is to win the conference title and to finish the season stronger and more improved as a team than when the year started. Her hobbies include playing sports, swimming, dancing, art, traveling, shopping, taking pictures, collecting turtles, buying fish, spending time with friends and making Tiff laugh so hard she cries! She is undecided on a major field of study but is considering broadcast journalism. She is the daughter of Brad and Linda Olson. Favorite Quote: “Goals in life are never as far as they seem. Anna Poulter

Making the adjustment from the catching position in high school to right field last year earned Anna Poulter All-WIAC honors as a freshman. After a year of getting use to playing softball in pants, Anna is ready to start the 2002 season. Her individual goals include less strike outs and more stolen bases. Poulter is majoring in physical education, but plans on continuing her education and earning a masters degree. Her dream job is to coach at the colliegate level. Jessica Perry

Junior Jessica Perry is a first year player from Maple Grove, Minnesota. She is majoring in journalism and is currently the editor-in-chief of the Student Voice. At Osseo Senior High, Jessica received all-conference honorable mention her senior year for softball. She was also a member of the varsity Nordic ski team, where she earned all conference honorable mention her junior year and the varsity tennis team where she earned all conference honorable mention both her junior and senior years. After coming back from not playing softball for almost two years, Jessica’s personal goal for the season is to continue improving both offensively and defensively. Her favorite quote is the one her 16 and under fastpitch coach told her “The best ball players aren't those who love to win, but those who can't stand to lose.”

 

Emily Rodgers

Richfield High School


Emily Rodgers is in her first year with the Falcons. She had a successful three-sport career at Richfield, Minn., High School. She was a three time letter winner in softball and was once named to the all-conference team and once was given honorable mention to the squad. She played in the Minnesota All-Star series. In basketball she was her team’s Most Valuable Player and received honorable mention to the all-conference team. She earned five soccer letters, was captain of her team and earned all-conference first team and honorable mention awards. She is a member of the 2000-2001 Falcon soccer and women’s basketball teams. Rodgers is majoring in health & human performance option 1 & 3. Her goals are to learn and improve each day in both offense and defense. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. Steph Steinke

Steph Steinke is in her first year with the Falcons and will play catcher. She is a sophomore academically and is majoring in agricuture education with a minor in coaching. At UWRF she is a member of the Student Alumni Association and plays intramural broomball and volleyball. Her hobbies include showing and fitting cattle, sports and spending time with friends. Her team goals are to, “become a strong unified group. When we accomplish building the wall of team unity, we will be more powerful then any wrecking ball. Melissa Turbak

Roseville High School


As a freshman last year, Melissa Turbak played third base for the Falcons. She was voted the team's Most Improved Player for the 2001 season. This year Melissa moves to second base, a position she played in high school. As a second year player, Melissa hopes to bring experience to the team and be a help to the first year players. Her personal goals are to improve all parts of her game and to have a consistent bat. Her team goal is to always play as a team, and to win conference again. Melissa's major is pre-pharmacy. Her hobbies include playing hockey, rollerblading, being with friends and family, and having fun. She is the daughter of Craig and Mary Turbak. Leah Vanderploeg

Leah Vanderploeg was a tri-athlete in high school for four years playing basketball, softball and running cross country. She received 1st Team All-Conference ten out of her twelve seasons and was honored with the WIAA Scholar Athlete Award as a senior. Vanderploeg participated in two state meets in cross country. Her individual goal is to improve all around as a player and to have fun. Vanderploeg's major is biology with a minor in chemistry and she would like to have a career in forensics science. Emily Vogt is in her third year with the Falcons and plays left field.
