Three Falcons Named to All-WIAC Baseball Teams

Falcon baseball players Scott DeWyre (Jr., Glenwood City, Wis.), Eric Bartholomew (Sr., North St. Paul, Minn.) and Dan Morgan (Jr., Ladysmith, Wis.) have all been named to 2002 All-WIAC teams.

DeWyre and Bartholomew were named to the first team and Morgan received honorable mention.

DeWyre, who was named to the first team in 2000 and 2001, led the team in hitting with a .347 average. He finished 42-121 at the plate. He led the team in hits, doubles (12), triples (2) and RBIs (27) in 35 games. He hit four homers and scored 22 runs. He had a .579 slugging percentage and a .429 on-base percentage. DeWyre, who played center field, made 61 put outs, had five assists and just one error and finished with a .985 fielding percentage.

Bartholomew, who played left field, finished second on the team in hitting with a .339 average. He was 37-109 and had seven doubles, one triple and a team-high six home runs. He scored 16 runs and finished with 25 RBIs. He led the Falcons with a .587 slugging percentage and had a .390 on-base percentage. He had 48 put outs, eight assists and three errors and finished with a .949 fielding percentage.

Morgan, who was named to the first team in 2001, was one of the team's top pitchers. He led the team in appearances (10), started eight games and led the team with four complete games. He finished with a 2-5 record and a 4.75 ERA, third on the team. He led the team in innings pitched with 53. He allowed 54 hits and 32 runs, 28 were earned. He struck out 55 and walked 24.

The Falcons finished 14-25 overall and 11-16 in the WIAC.
