| | | Details | This course will provide knowledge and understanding of organic plant production systems compared to sustainable and traditional systems. Crop rotations, organic nutrients, pest management, certification, organizations, environmental stewardship, consumer responsibility, economics, and specialty marketing will be discussed. Students will tour local farms to learn technical, social and economic concepts related to organic crop production. Prerequisite: Completion of CAFES Foundation of Agriculture courses, Crop 368, or consent of instructor. (Fall) |
