DetailsThe experience of Native Americans as expressed in their literature from creation stories and early speeches to contemporary writers will be introduced. The class will discuss these writers' thematic preoccupations with their own cultural heritage, the experience of "double consciousness," the clash of values, and racial/ethnic identity.
