DetailsThis course introduces students to the radical transformation of Western societies in the course of the late medieval period. It covers the evolution of Western individuality, spirituality, state system, separation between church and state, value system, capitalist economy, crusades, exploration and conflicts with the Islamic world. (Offered every other year.)
