This course will provide an introduction to the basic principles of digital hardware and assembly language programming. Topics include: Combinational Circuits, Sequential Circuits, Memory Units (ROM/RAM) and their Basic Architecture, Central Processing Unit and its Architecture, Machine Language, Microcomputer Architecture, Memory Architectures, Addressing Modes, Data Transfer Instructions, Arithmetic Instructions, Assembler Expressions, Input/output Services, Transfer of Control Instructions, subroutines and macros. Prerequisite. CSIS 237 (F, Sp)
