| | | Details | This course is a certification requirement of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. It is designed to prepare prospective speech-language pathologists for work in the public schools. Attention will be directed toward organization of speech-language programs in the schools and federal/state legislation relating to such programs. Program planning, development, implementation and evaluation will also be discussed. Emphasis is placed on (1) identification of pupils with exceptional educational needs in speech-language; (2) multi-disciplinary team evaluations; (3) individual education plan development; (4) service delivery models, (5) due process. Field experience required (25 hours). Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education.(F) |
