| | | Details | This course provides students with guidelines and practice for meeting the developmental needs of young children in infant/toddler programs. The course content will apply developmental theories to the curriculum of care and play of the infant and toddler. Students will have the opportunity to practice observation skills and will have some experience assisting in group care of infants and toddlers. Students will engage in observation and environment and curriculum planning taking into account developmental needs of individual children, patterns of interaction between adults and children, health and safety standards, social-cultural differences and evaluation of infant/toddler program models. Field experience of approximately 18 hours providing the opportunity for observation and hands-on experience is incorporated in the course. Prerequsite-corequisite: TED 225. (F, Sp) |
