DetailsAn introductory course which offers cross cultural comparisons of indigenous, traditional and classical dance forms from six continents. This course is designed to increase one's understanding and appreciation of dance as a fine art form and an integral part of cultural mores, a medium of cultural fusion, and a creation of individual artists. The course will emphasize the development of cultural forces which fuse African and Western dance traditions which have resulted in many of the American social dance forms of today. (F, Sp)
