| | | Details | The course is designed to introduce students to the processes, procedures, practices and interrelationships of those agencies involved in the American criminal justice system. The role of law enforcement, the court systems, and the processes of corrections will be examined with an emphasis upon examining each component and their relative strengths and weaknesses in the crime control process. Contemporary issues and problems encountered by the criminal justice system will also be addressed. Prerequisite: One of the following: SOCI 100, ANTH 100, PSYC 101, POLS 114 |
