Details
A short term apprenticeship (usually lasting for one summer) with a business or government organization. The student learns to perform the tasks of a regular employee, applying theoretical knowledge and research to practical situations. In addition, the student learns about career opportunities open to Physics majors. In the Cooperative Education program, this course follows PHYS 279. Prerequisites: Junior or higher standing, completion of PHYS 264, permission of Physics Department internship supervisor, PHYS 279 or consent of instructor. PHYS 379 may be repeated for a total of 6 credits, but only 3 credits of these may be applied to the physics major.
