Details	The course traces the history of women in the Western world from the beginnings of civilization to the present. Emphasizing women's positions in classical antiquity, medieval and modern Europe, the course examines shifting structural patterns that shape women's lives and writings, cultural representations of women, and gender relations in western history and societies. Prerequisites: HIST 101 and 102 or consent of instructor. Co-listed as WMST 303. (occasionally)
