| | | Details | This course is a survey of two popular art forms: the novel and the feature film. We will compare influential 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st century novels and their 20th and 21st century film adaptations. Following an overview of origins and significant developments, students will examine various types and techniques of both mediums and will practice comparative analysis and interpretation. Co-listed as ENGL 343/543. Prerequisite: junior standing or consent of instructor.(alternate years) |
