This course identifies a constantly recurring major image-the Native American in literature-that helps to bring into focus and to reflect Native Americans as they were and are, as opposed to the common non-Indian views of Indians occurring from early colonial times to the present. Emphasis will be on twentieth Century literature of the "Native American Renaissance." Prerequisites: Completion of CW requirement. (F)
