| | | Details | This hybrid lecture/studio course will provide students with the opportunities to explore the therapeutic functions of art. The aim is to familiarize students to the definitions, historical roots, theoretical underpinnings and the basic elements of the field of art therapy and to further understand the creative potential that exists in all human beings. Students will experience a variety of art therapy interventions to help comprehend the function of art in a therapeutic context and have hands on experiences with the theoretrical ideas presented in this course.
