DetailsThe elementary study of gravitational, magnetic, seismic, electrical and thermal properties of the Earth will be examined. Applications to the determination of earth structure and global tectonics from the measurement and interpretation of these properties. Exploration techniques and applications to the petroleum and hydrogeologic industries are also introduced. Weekend field exercises required. Prerequisites: GEOL 102, PHYS 151, 152, MATH 166 or consent of instructor.(Sp)
