Outdoor Summer Concert Series Announced
The outdoor summer concert series at the Wall Amphitheater on the UW-River Falls campus will kick off on Tuesday, June 24. Performances will begin at 7 p.m. every Tuesday until July 29. Each concert is free and open to the public.
A schedule of the summer concerts follows:
June 24: Blind Man's Bluff: No matter what your age or what type of music you like, everyone will enjoy the music styling of Blind Man's Bluff. This Acappella group skillfully blends comedy and vocals with soaring leads, funk bass, dance beat, covers worth covering, and originals that really are!
July 1: Runaway: Together, the duo of Dan Sebrank and John Smith perform music described as contemporary new folk-acoustic with a little more punch. Runaway captivates the audience with their spontaneity, good nature and upbeat personalities.
July 8: Friedlander and Hall: These acoustic guitarists prefer to turn back the clock, specializing in jazz swing versions of classic songs from the '20's, '30's, and '40's. Their versatility and willingness to please audiences of all ages has earned them star status on the summer outdoor concert circuit.
July 15: St. Croix Valley Community Orchestra: Sit back, relax, and enjoy these local musicians as they take you on a musical adventure. Great for all ages.
July 22: The Kids From Wisconsin: Back again by popular demand, this group is composed of approximately 32 student musicians and stage performers between the ages of 15 and 20. The Kids From Wisconsin are officially designated the "musical goodwill ambassadors" of the State of Wisconsin.
July 29: Ipso Facto: Don't miss the hottest reggae band in the Midwest as the grand finale of the 1997 summer concert series.
Concert-goers can snack on brats from the concession stand or are invited to pack a picnic lunch. However, charcoal grills and alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
