Health/Wellness Fair on April 22

A Health and Wellness Fair that features information on healthly lifestyles, as well as screenings, will be held at UW-River Falls on April 22.

There is no charge for the fair, which is open to the public.

It is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Karges Gymnasium.

The theme for the fair, according to Page Dunn-Albertie, is "Volunteering for a Healthy Community." Approximately 40 area organizations will be present, with some organizations recruiting volunteers. Among those participating are Turningpoint for Domestic Abuse, River Falls Medical Clinic, Northwest Wisconsin AIDS project, and the River Falls Police and Fire Departments.

Some of those providing health information or services will be: Professional Therapeutic Massage, with shiatsu stretches/massage; BACCHUS/GAMMA, with Fatal Vision glasses that simulates dunkeness; River Falls Chiropractic Health Center with spinal screens and body fat measurements; River Falls Area Hospital, with cholesterol screening for a small fee; and Chartwells Dining Service, with food samples and a nutrition test.
