Native American Activist to Speak
Native American activist Winona LaDuke will tell about her experiences April 4 at 8 p.m. at UW-RF in the North Hall auditorium.
LaDuke is a member of the Mississippi band of Anishinabe and the campaign director for the White Earth Recovery Project.
LaDuke writes frequently about environmental issues and is a member of Greenpeace and the Seventh Generation Fund, a national Native American Foundation.
She was chosen by Time magazine as one of 50 leaders of tomorrow and featured in People magazine as a crusader. LaDuke has also spoke at a United Nations conference on indigenous women.
