Seniors to Study Religions in SOS III
UW-River Falls will offer two series of classes for Session III of the Senior Outreach Studies: "World Religions" on Tuesday mornings, and "Morning with a Professor" on Thursday mornings.
The three week classes will be held in rooms 137-138 of Rodli Commons on the UW-RF campus from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Each session will include a presentation, a coffee break and a discussion period. The sessions are open to those 55 years of age or older.
The Tuesday class, "World Religions," will be held on four Tuesdays beginning March 11. The four Thursday classes, "Morning with a Professor," will begin March 13.
The Thursday dates, topics, and presenters are:
March 11: "American Indian (Ojibewe) Spirituality," Professor Joan Kennedy, UW-RF director of placement.
March 18: "Islam," Makram El-Amin, Iman, Masjid An-Nur Mosque, Minneapolis, Minn.
April 1: "Buddhism," presenter to be announced.
April 8: "Judaism," Dr. Lorraine Davis, River Falls Public Schools curriculum director.

March 13: "Wisconsin Parks: Will It or Won't It?" Professor Brian Schultz, UW-RF economic department.
March 20: "Drugs From Nature," Professor David Rusterholz, UW-RF chemistry department.
April 3: "Family Life: Racial and Ethnic Differences/Similarities," Professor Judy Rommel, UW-Stout human development-family living department.
April 10: "Weather Wonders," Professor Donald Petzold, UW-RF geography department.
