UW-River Falls Sets Two Technology Seminars

UW-River Falls is offering two technology seminars for teachers this Spring. Sponsored through the College of Education & Graduate Studies, both classes are taught by instructor Marla Hall.
The first seminar is titled "Continuing Issues: Cruising the Information Superhighway." It is scheduled for Saturdays, March 6 & 13, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and on Tuesdays, March 9 & 16, from 5-9 p.m .Participants will learn the importance of telecommunications while gaining the fundamental skills needed to navigate the Internet. E-mail, news groups, and the World Wide Web are demonstrated with a hands-on approach.
The second class is titled "Continuing Issues: Internet WEB Design and Development I is scheduled for Saturdays, April 17 & 24, from 9 a .m.-4 p.m. , and on Tuesdays, April 20 & 27, from 5-9 p.m. This focuses on developing a Web site. Participants will learn HTML coding. Macintosh and Simpletext are used in class but these easily transfer to other types of operating systems. Lab time will result in the creation of a personalized school or business Web site.
