Financial Aid Seminar Set for High School Seniors, Parents

College-bound high school seniors and their parents can learn about the process for receiving financial aid in a seminar set for Jan. 22 at UW-River Falls.

The seminar, which is free, will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the Hagestad Student Center Ballroom.

Financial aid officers from UW-RF and UW-Stout will be on hand to outline the financial aid process and to answer questions.

Seminar highlights are:

  • Free application for 1996-97 Federal Student Aid.
  • Electronic application processing.
  • Descriptions of federal and state financial aid programs.
  • Sensible borrowing guidelines.
  • Calculating expected family contributions.
  • Employment options.
  • Additionally, scholarships will be raffled from the 15 banks and thrifts that are co-sponsoring the seminar.
