For nearly 13 years, Beedy has organized field placements at Highwood Hills Elementary School in St. Paul, where she teaches. She has been responsible for the placement of nearly half of the Universityıs student teachers each year.
Beedy has also served as a mentor to two students each semester. Over the 13-year period, she personally mentored 52 elementary education majors, spending 100 hours with each of them in her classroom.
The Outstanding Service Award, sponsored by the Universityıs Alumni Association, was established in 1983 to recognize an individual, corporation, or governmental body which has made exemplary contributions to the mission of the University. The contributions may include personal time and energy, leadership, support and/or monetary donations.
