Holiday Saxophone Concert Dec. 10

UW-River Falls will present the Minneapolis Saxophone Quartet for a winter holiday concert with special guest artist Laura Caviani, as part of the Wyman Concert and Lecture Series on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building.

UW-RF associate music Professor David Milne, an accomplished saxophone player, has the honor of leading the exciting, innovative, and creative jazz saxophone quartet. The concert will feature original works by members of the Quartet and jazz arrangements of holiday tunes.

Jazz pianist and composer Laura Caviani will also perform a new work for the Quartet. As a composer, Caviani has written for ensembles ranging from small jazz combos to orchestras, including the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra and the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra.

Wyman Series events are open to students and the public. The cost is free to students and $5 for non-students. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the UW-RF Leadership Center at 715/425-4911.
