UW-River Falls Seniors to Exhibit 'Rites of Passage' Art
Five UW-River Falls arts students will hold their senior exhibitions through December.
"Rites of Passage: Endurance and Evolution" featuring the work of four senior art students: Jennifer Brandmeier, a broad area art major from Arcadia; Kitt Freudenberg, a fine arts major from White Bear Lake, Minn.; Jane Nicol, a fine arts major from Hudson; and Erik E. Paulson, a broad area art major from River Falls, will be exhibited Nov. 21-26 in Gallery 101 of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building. An opening reception is set for Nov. 24 from 5-7 p.m.
The artists will bring together diverse subject matter and media into a show that emphasizes the themes of ritual and passage. Students will showcase works in glass blowing, painting, black and white photography and jewelry.
In a separate show, Mike D'Ambrosio of Somerset will exhibit his sculpture, "Rock Bolt 5," from Nov. 17-Dec. 21 in the Chalmer Davee Library. The work can be viewed during normal library hours.
Art critic Dougirella Factorio has described d'Amrosio's work as "visually delectable, deliciously quirky, abashedly erotic and, how you say?....Good!?"
