UW-RF Education Studentst Practice Teaching Skills
More than 120 UW-River Falls education students are practicing their teaching skills this fall in 49 cooperating Wisconsin and Minnesota school districts and preschools as student teachers and interns.
Experienced teachers from the cooperating schools supervise the student teachers and interns. Students are also visited and supervised by UW-RF faculty.
Student teachers receive University credit for their work, which usually continues for one academic semester. Interns receive both credit and salary, are on contract with cooperating schools and assume greater responsibilities than student teachers.
Participating students from River Falls are listed below:
Kristen Baregi, student teaching grade 2 at Phalen Park Elementary School in St. Paul, Minn., from Sept. 5 to Nov. 9.
Thomas Bell, student teaching social studies at Park High School in South Washington County, Minn. from Aug. 28 to Nov. 7 and at Century Junior High School in Forest Lake, Minn. from Nov. 13 to Jan. 26.
Douglas Cook, student teaching biology at Ellsworth Senior High School from Aug. 21 to Jan. 10.
Jennifer Decker, student teaching science at Meyer Middle School from Aug. 18 to Oct. 26 and at River Falls Senior High School from Oct. 30 to Jan. 15.
Matthew Howie, student teaching art at Park High School in South Washing County, Minn., from Aug. 28 to Nov. 7 and at Lincoln Center Elementary School in South St. Paul, Minn., from Nov. 8 to Jan.
Katrina Johnson, student teaching grade 2 at Lily lake Elementary School in Stillwater, Minn., from Aug. 28 to Jan. 25.
Pamela Kipper, student teaching grade 5 at John F. Kennedy Elementary School from Aug. 24 to Jan. 19.
Kathryn Koshere, interning English at New Richmond Senior High School from Aug. 30 to Nov. 3.
Jeffery Parsons, interning social studies at River Falls Senior High School from Aug. 21 to Jan. 12.
Brenna Scheller, student teaching grade 3 at Hillcrest Elementary School in Ellsworth from Aug. 1 to Jan. 10.
Scott Van Epps, student teaching math at Prescott Senior High School from Aug. 21 to Nov. 3 and at New Richmond Middle School from Nov. 6 to Jan 18.
