Afghanistan Forum Set for Oct. 16.
The historical and geographical perspectives on the Sept. 11 terrorist attack will be the focus of a forum on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at UW-River Falls.
Scheduled from 3-4:15 p.m., it will be held in the Regent's Room of Hagestad Student Center. It is free and open to the public.
Sponsored by the Department of History and Philosophy, it will feature three presentations:
"Geographic Dimensions of Afghanistan and Its Neighbors," by geography
Professor Charles Rader.
"The Rise and Fall of Regional Empires Through WW II," by Professor Edward
Peterson, who is the author of numerous books on the political and cultural
history of World War II in Europe and the Soviet Union.
"U.S. Foreign Policy After WW II," by Professor Betty Bergland.
The short presentations will be followed by discussions.
