UW-RF Team Places Third at Dairy Judging Contest in Viroqua
The UW-River Falls Dairy Judging team placed 3rd at the 11th annual Accelerated
Genetics Dairy Judging contest Saturday, Sept. 19, in Viroqua, Wis.
UW-River Falls had two participating teams: the red team, which finished third
overall, and the white team, which finished 14th overall. Team members competed
against 22 teams from across the nation in 10 classes including Ayrshire, Guernsey,
Holstein, Jersey, and Milking Shorthorn cattle.
Members of the third place team included Keith Christen; Monticello, Wis.; Stephanie
Jirele, Owatonna, Minn.; Leah Johnson, La Crescent, Minn.; and Charlotte Muenzenberger,
Coon Valley, Wis.
The team finished fourth in oral reasons. Johnson led the team, finishing second
overall in individual competition and third in oral reasons.
Members of the white team included Erik Blaser; Oconto Falls, Wis.; Lance Nelson;
Grove City, Minn.; and Amber Lybert; Tony, Wis.
